Cargo ship hit Saturday by missile southeast of Yemen’s Aden — UK maritime security firm
[IsraelTimes] British security firm Ambrey says an Antigua and Barbuda-flagged general cargo ship has been struck by a missile 83 nautical miles southeast of Yemen’s Aden. The vessel caught fire before the blaze was contained.

Earlier, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said it had received a report from a captain of a vessel on an incident 80 nautical miles southeast of Yemen

UKMTO says it also received a report from a master of a vessel about another incident 70 nautical miles southwest of Aden.

"The ship was heading southwest along the Gulf of Aden at speed 8.2kts when the forward station was struck by a missile. A fire started but was neutralised," Ambrey says in an advisory note.

"A second missile was sighted but did not hit the ship. Persons on board small boats in the vicinity opened fire on the ship during the incident."

Ambrey says the ship changed its course to port with increased speed, adding that "no injuries were reported."

The Houthi fighters have aimed drone and missile strikes at the Bab al-Mandab Strait and Gulf of Aden, forcing shippers since November to take longer and more costly journeys around southern Africa.

Yemen’s Houthis claimed Friday to target two vessels in the Red Sea
[IsraelTimes] No independent confirmation of attacks; US says it destroyed a Houthi patrol boat

s on Friday said they targeted two vessels in the Red Sea with drones and missiles, but there was no independent confirmation of the purported attacks.

The group targeted the Elbella and AAL GENOA vessels with "a number of drones and ballistic and naval missiles," the Iran-aligned group’s military front man Yahya Saree said in a televised speech.

Saree did not specify the date on which the strikes were carried out. Rooters did not receive any reports of incidents in the Red Sea on Friday.

Eastern Mediterranean Maritime, manager of the Malta-flagged Elbella container ship, declined comment. Rooters was not immediately able to reach the owner or manager of the Cyprus-flagged AAL Genoa general cargo vessel.

Separately, the United States Central Command said on Friday that Houthis launched in the past 24 hours four anti-ship ballistic missiles over the Red Sea, but there were no injuries or damage.

US forces destroyed one drone launched from a Houthi-controlled area of Yemen into the Bab al-Mandeb Strait and also destroyed a Houthi patrol boat in the Red Sea, the US military said in a post on X.

EA-18G Growler Killed A Houthi Mi-24 Hind With An AGM-88E Anti-Radiation Missile
[The Warzone] The Navy on Thursday confirmed to The War Zone that one of its EA-18G Growler electronic warfare aircraft used an AGM-88E Advanced Anti-Radiation Guided Missile (AARGM) to destroy a Mi-24/35 Hind attack helicopter. This confirms a possible explanation we suggested when a mysterious "kill mark" of a Hind appeared on a Growler deployed aboard the aircraft carrier Dwight D. Eisenhower (Ike) in a photo that was released on May 15.
That’s a long time to go without an explanation. Isn’t she facing Yemen at the moment? I assume that would mean the Hind belonged to the Houthis…
The engagement also likely highlights the AARGM's unique precision strike capabilities against non-radiating targets.

"The first instance of AARGM use in combat was from an E/A-18G deployed on Ike, during this current deployment to the U.S. 5th Fleet region," a Navy official told us. The official could not say if that engagement was the same as the one that earned a Growler its Hind kill mark.

We initially posited that the kill likely involved an AARGM.

"The Hind was reportedly struck on the ground, which is strange for a Growler," The War Zone's Tyler Rogoway tweeted on May 16. "Best guess: they fired AARGM to hit coordinates, not home in on emissions, which it's capable of. It is a good time-sensitive target effector in this way. We'll find out more."

#1  Interesting story. Apparently, the little Growler has some bite to go with its bark.

Random speculation: I wonder if the Hind was radiating in some way. I've heard tales from Ukr v Rus about Russian helicopters flying electronic warfare missions.

Fifth Column
‘Kill another Zionist now’: Pro-terror demonstrators converge near White House
[IsraelTimes] Pro-Hamas and Hezbollah US demonstrators are staging a protest near the White House, calling for “jihad.”

Reports on social media appear to show masked demonstrators chanting slogans urging Hamas’s military wing to “kill another soldier now” and calling on Hezbollah to “kill another Zionist now.”

… calling for “jihad of victory or martyrdom” while chanting for Al Qassam and Hezbollah terrorists to kill more Zionists/Jews.

This demonstration, organized by pro-Hamas supporters, has people questioning the legality of this.

… that this is so.

Anti-Zionists who glorify the likes of Hamas and Hezbollah are perpetuating an ideology that embraces extremism and incites violence.
Thousands of protesters chanting “From DC to Palestine, we are the red line” held a long banner scribbled with the names of Palestinians killed in the ongoing fighting in Gaza, which was sparked by Hamas’s October 7 massacre in southern Israel.

One video posted to X showed a man with a Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine headband burning the American flag, while other protesters appeared to be wearing green Hamas headbands.

The protesters — almost all wearing red clothing — held Palestinian flags and signs saying “Biden’s red line was a lie” and “Bombing children is not self-defense.”

The White House stepped up security with an additional anti-scale perimeter fence ahead of the demonstration, which saw chartered buses ferrying in people from as far afield as Maine and Florida.
Chartered busses that had no problem carrying anti-Israel demonstrators…

and the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) say that demonstrations are planned on Saturday, to mark eight months since Israel began its military offensive in Gaza against Hamas
..a regional Iranian catspaw,...
following the terror group’s October 7 onslaught.

The United States, Israel’s key ally, has seen months of pro-Paleostinian protests against Israel ranging from marches in Washington and vigils near the White House to the blocking of bridges and roads near train stations and airports in multiple cities and encampments on many college campuses. Protesters have also disrupted some of Biden’s reelection campaign events. Biden is currently in La Belle France for an official visit.

Protests for Gaza and against Israel began immediately after the October 7 attacks and even before Israel’s military response to Hamas kicked into high gear.

On its website, CAIR said the rallies are to mark "eight months of slaughter and starvation in Gaza and demand that President Biden enforce his red line on Rafah by ending US support for the Israeli government’s genocide," without mentioning Hamas or the terror group’s attack that initiated the war.

A US Secret Service spokesperson said: "In preparation for the events this weekend in Washington, DC, that have the potential for large crowds to gather, additional public safety measures have been put in place near the White House complex."

Biden and the White House have previously said they support peaceful protests, but not "chaos" and violence.

’s Nuseirat camp.

News of the daring rescue mission led war cabinet member Benny Gantz to cancel a news conference scheduled for Saturday night, at which he was expected to announce he was leaving the government. The developments came amid uncertainty as to the fate of an Israeli proposal for a hostage-for-ceasefire deal that United States President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. ‘This Is A Man ThatDoes Not Seem Demented’...
presented last week.

Hamas has yet to formally respond to the proposal, though officials in the terror group have reiterated their insistence that any agreement must guarantee an end to the war, a demand Israel has repeatedly ruled out.

The Hostages and Families Forum has dubbed the proposal "the Netanyahu deal," in an effort to shore up support for it.

"The happiness, bliss and closure are the government’s duty toward its citizens," the group wrote on X after news of the hostages’ rescue.
Utter nonsense. The duty of government toward its citizens is to provide an even playing field where the same laws bind all, and secure borders. Bliss and closure result from individual efforts and achievements.
"They must promote the approval of the Netanyahu deal as soon as this week!"
If Hamas will not agree, there is no point to the Israeli government doing so.
The forum held its weekly rally at Tel Aviv’s Hostages Square. Anti-government protest groups clamoring for new elections assembled nearby, outside the Kirya military headquarters’ southern entrance on Kaplan Street.

The demonstrations in Tel Aviv were complemented by related protests in other parts of the country, including in front of the Herzliya home of war cabinet observer Gadi Eisenkot, the No. 2 in Gantz’s National Unity party.

Gantz threatened last month to quit the government by June 8 if Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu failed to present an agreed-upon post-war plan for Gaza’s governance.

Along with the weekly demonstrations, the Peace Partnership held a rally in Tel Aviv’s Habima Square calling to "stop the war as the occupation marks its 57th year," referring to Israel’s capture during the 1967 Six Day War of areas the Paleostinians claim for a future state. An organizer from the group — a coalition of some two dozen left-wing organizations — said Friday that the police did not authorize the protest, though the police website showed that approval was granted on Friday.

Police say 33 arrested as Tel Aviv protesters tried to block road; all routes now open

[IsraelTimes] Police say that 33 protesters were arrested during demonstrations in Tel Aviv this evening calling for new elections and the return of the remaining hostages held in captivity in Gazoo, hours after the military announced that four hostages were rescued alive from central Gaza’s Nuseirat camp.

The police statement adds that all roads near the protest have now been opened to traffic.

It says that while most demonstrators attended the preapproved rally and then dispersed, some stayed and marched along Begin and Kaplan roads, "while trying to block a traffic route.

"Police forces at the scene dispersed the protesters from the road, while employing riot control methods and arresting disrupters of public order," the statement added.
